Shoe Tying Challenge

The Physical Education department is starting a shoe tying challenge and we need your help! Please encourage shoe tying at home. You can practice a way that works best for your child so that they can do it all by themselves. Once a student feels confident about tying their shoes, they will perform this task in front of one of the PE Teachers. Once this task is complete, the student will receive a shoe sheriff badge to put on the wall and will be recognized with a certificate at the end of the nine weeks.

Happy shoe tying,

Mrs. Beech & Mrs. Rogers

Grandparents’ Day Celebration September 14th

We would like to cordially invite all CHES grandparents to join us for a celebration on Friday, September 14th. Grandparents will be able to spend time with their grandchild(ren) by taking photos, enjoying a music performance, shopping at the book fair and even dancing. Please bring a camera or phone and someone will be happy to snap a photo of you and your grandchild(ren).

Celebration Times:

Kindergarten 8:45-9:30                 3rd Grade 10:45-11:30

1st Grade 9:45-10:30                       4th Grade 1:00-1:45

2nd Grade 12:00-12:45                    5th Grade  2:00-2:45

On arrival, grandparents will enter through the front of the building, go to the front lobby to sign in, and will be directed to the GYM to meet their grandchild(ren). In order to make this a special time for both the grandparents and the students, we are asking that ONLY grandparents attend.

Due to limited space and an abbreviated schedule, we are asking that Grandparents do not stay to eat lunch on this day.  We are looking forward to making this a fun and memorable day for all!
